Emailing pictures from Picasa2

I am having trouble emailing pictures from Picasa2 out of my gmail
account. I select the desired pictures from the Picasa2 program, click
on the button to send them through email and enter my login
information. When I press sign in, an error comes up saying "failed to
connect to gmail-please try again later." Of course it doesn't work
later and I've tried reinstalling Picasa and changing both my cookie
settings as well as the internet security setting. How can I get this
to work?

Why would you use Picasa to send emails? Why don't you use you email
program,
and attach the pictures from there?

Why not use Picasa2 plain e-mail:

Picasa Help > Sharing Your Photos with Picasa > E-mailing Photos

How do I set Picasa to send email using my email program?

You can set Picasa to send email using your email program. Please do the
following:

1. Open Picasa.
2. Click "Tools" > "Options" > "Email."
3. Under "Email Program," set Picasa to use your email program.
4. Click "OK."

You should now be able to send email using your email program.

I happily use Picasa for emailing pictures because it imbeds the
pictures in the message body so that I can annotate them plus the
recipient has quick easy viewing of them. And I can also easily control
the resolution-reduction applied to the pictures being sent.

I have become a big fan of Picasa ... see http://picasa.google.com/ .
