email with attachments won't leave outbox and keeps sending

When I attach a picture to an email it sits in my outbox and keeps sending,
so recipeient sometimes recieves 10 or more of the same email. it only stops
sending when i delete it from my outbox.

1) Disable any mail scanning by your antivirus program. You don't need it
and it causes the symptom you describe
2) Increase the server timeout value on the Advanced tab of the account
properties pages.
3) Make sure the send/receive interval is no less than ten minutes.
