Email with attachment, drag to calendar

P

Paul

Hi,
We're testing out Outlook 2007. When a user drags an email to their
calendar and that email has an attachment, should the attachment also come
over? The expectation is that it should. But our tests all result in no
attachment.

We can open the email and then drag the attachment to the appointment, but
that seems to be an "extra step". Is there some setting or view that will
allow a user to drag an email with an attachment the the calendar and end up
with an appointment with the attachment in one step?

Thanks,
Paul

Nope, but you can use your right mouse button instead for the drag and drop
process to get a pop-up to copy it as an appointment with an attachment or
link to the original mail.

Thanks Roady,

This helps. The steps I was able to follow:
1. right-click the email with the attachment
2. Select Move to Folder.
3. Select Calendar
4. The appointment will appear with the attachment; set the ate/time of the
appointment

So there's no real way to simply drap and drop the email to the calendar and
get the attachment to come along. You have to either drag it, then open the
email and drop it separately on the appt. Or you follow the above steps and
the have to set the date/time.
