Email stuck in Outbox

I realise that I typed the wrong address when sending an email. The email is
now 'stuck' in my Outbox but I cannot see it to delete the message. Instead,
every time I send a new meesage, it also tries to send the original message
(ie the one with the wrong address). The following message keeps appearing.
How do I delete the message so it does not appear each time.

“The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was '___________@_______ net'. Subject 'Welcome
back', Account: 'pop.1and1.co.uk', Server: 'auth.smtp.1and1.co.uk', Protocol:
SMTP, Server Response: '501 bad address syntax: <__________@________ net>',
Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 501, Error Number: 0x800CCC79â€
