1. Create an HTML file in Notepad, save it with an extension of HTML and make
a note of where you’ve saved it.

2. In Windows Mail go to Tools > Options > Signatures Tab > New > File at
the bottom and Browse to the full path name of your HTML file, then apply/OK
your way out. You can look at it offline but it is best to send an email to
yourself to make sure it looks correct.

Thank you for the info. I guess I should have stated in my question, I'm
clueless about this whole HTM thing? I found Notepad; do I type my info in
there? When I click save as, I don't an HTML extension. Under Save as Type,
there's only Text Documents (*.txt) and All Files. Then under Encoding
there's ANSI, Unicode, Unicode big endian & UTF-8. I know you're not my
personal computer guru, but I am totally lost!! Thank you again for any
help--

(Where is Notepad?)

To open a blank NotePad document, right click on your desktop and select
New>Text Document.
After you save it, rename it with either an .htm or .html file extension.
I don't understand HOW I do the HTML file in Notepad >

See BurrWalnut's post in this thread.

I have a similar but different issue. I have multiple signatures 2 having
html formats and 3 having text formats. When I set any of these as the
default they work. However, when I "insert a signature" the html ones appear
as a frame with an "x" in the upper left hand corner. If I use the standard
insert and the jpg or gif I use in the sig files inserts fine. Also if I go
to the HTML file and open it it opens fine in IE and displaces the signature
jpg or gif fine.

Any Help would be apprecaited.

Specify the full path to the image in the signature file and don't use a
relative path. See if that fixes the problem.

The image is specified as follows in HTML:

<IMG src="path to image">

The path can be the full path to the file so that the image can be located:

<IMG src="File://c:\myimages\myimage.jpg">

or it can be a path relative to a base directory as follows:

<IMG src="myimage.jpg">

You need to specify the full path, so that the image can be correctly
located and not the relative path.

Do it in Windows Mail.
Compose a new message, then save it as a html file.
Then tell WM to use that html file.

It helps to create new discussions ("threads") for new questions. The
subject of your question is the same as for this thread but your question is
not the same, especially since this thread is so old I can't see the
original question.

It might especially help for you to create a new thread since then we could
see what the signature looks like when it is sent. Can you copy and paste
the signature that you are using? The "before" signature; what it looks like
in the Signature tab of the Options.

For replies, Windows Mail uses the signature associated with the account
that downloaded the original message. You can reassign signatures to
different accounts:
Tools, Options, Signatures, select the signature, Advanced.

and implement! Thanks so much!!!
