I have used Oulook Express 2003 Email to send & receive for some months.
Suddenly there is no response whatever to clicking the "Send/Receive".

Tools/Email Accounts/View/next/change/Test Account Settings results in the
message "all tests completed successfully" A test message is emailed. That
test message cannot be received on my computer, Vista Business, using Outlook
Express 2003 or Outlook Mail

"TrendSecure Protection PC-cillin Internet Security 2007" for Internet &
Email Controls is activated and their Protection Setting Status is rated at
"Good"

I would appreciate any help or advice on how to overcome this problem.

Thanks

Try to disable email scanning in your security suite.

Charlie42 thanks for your suggestion. I followed your advice. Restarted my computer. The "send/receive" in Outlook Express 2003 still remains inoperative.
I have re-enabled my security suite email scanning.
However the "send/receive" in my Windows Mail now operates, whether my
security suite email scanning is enabled or disabled.
