email send/receive problem OL 2002

I have a similar problem as sunnysky. I have ATT-Yahoo. They recently
changed ports to enhance security. After I changed, I keep getting error
message: Task ‘pop.att.yahoo.com – Sending and Receiving’ reported error
(0x800CCC7D): ‘Your outgoing (SMTP) server does not support SSL – secured
connections. If SSL-secured connections have worked in the past, contact
your server administrator or ISP.’ I tried ATT support, but after many
tries, no luck and they said it was an Outlook problem and gave me the MS
support #. I was thinking of just getting Office 2007, but anyone know if
new OL will support the new ports? SMTP=465 and POP3=995. Thanks.

As a test, have you tried it with Outlook Express?

I just turned on OL xpress for the fist time, and I received mail okay and
sent a test message to myself successfully. I then checked the server
settings and they were set for the old port settings. When I changed to the
new port settings and sent another test, I got error messages saying Error
#0x800CCC0F for both SMTP 465 and POP3 995. On the bright side, you saved me
the $50 MS support fee that ATT recommended I try because they said it was an
OL problem... Thanks.
