email profiles- only able to select one profile

I have set up outlook, to 'prompt for a profile to be used', in the mail tab
in CP.

It does promt me for the first time, but once i have opened up a profile and
then close it and try to start up outlook again, it will not prompt me to
choose a profiles-it just open th last profile i had open up.

It never used to do this, can anyone please help?

What version of Outlook?
What OS?
Any Add-Ins installed (Tools - Options - Other - Advanced Options - COM
Add-ins and Add-In Manager)?

It sounds like Outlook.exe is not actually shutting down when you exit (how
are you exiting outlook?) so the mapi session is actually still active.
