Email on MSN with Qwest DSL

Have XP, MSN, qwest DSL
Having problems with internet. If I go into MSN thru our administrator
accout it
takes forever and a Sunday to get into the email file and when I click on an
email it takes forever to download. Yet, if I go to my email thru Explorer,
MSN, and Hotmail it's not as bad...not great, but not as bad.
MSN keeps telling me that it's a Qwest problem (corrupted user tile) and
Qwest tells me that I need
to create a new XP Profile. I really don't think that that is the problem
since
some of the problems still exsist thru Explorer and Hotmail.
Also, crashes are frequent.
I can't find my XP disc or I would reload.
Any suggestions?

If you are using "the" administrator account to surf the web then you should
do as Qwest said and create a new user account. If you are using an
administrator account then you can start by scanning your PC for malware,
etc. Use software such as Spybot Search and Destroy (at your own risk),
adaware, Microsoft Defender and if you dont have an anti-virus software then
try AVG free Edition. Also check into downloading Zone Alarm if you don't
have a firewall.

Thanks, but why do I have trouble going in thru IE then?
I have McAfee virus and firewall.

Is it just slow retrieving e-mail? Also, it sounds to me like you are using
Microsoft Outlook to get your e-mail, and that takes forever so you use IE
and that is faster. If that is the case then you might want to check for
Outlook updates. i recommend that you un spyware and adware scans either way.

If you prefer to start from scratch and re-install XP then contact your PC
manufacturer and see if they can sell you another copy of the restore CDs, I
don't think they cost more than $15 including shipping.
