Email notification on splash screen

Both me and my wife use separate logins on the same pc but whenever we log
off or shut down the pc and log back in, the splash screen says we have
unread emails even once we've read and deleted everything. Any help
appreciated.

Open a run command and type in:
regedit click [OK] locate this Key and make the appropriate changes:
[-]HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail=
in the right pane/window change DWORD Value for "MessageExpiryDays" to 0.

Close the Registry Editor and run a disk cleanup and Reboot your machine,
does it help?.

Thanks for all your help.
I've now created a key in HKey_Local_Machine..... and exported and saved it
for future reinstalls. This way both me and the wife won't have that annoying
message again.

To remove an account or to change the count manually:

Start>Run>Regedit>navigate to this key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail\[Your
E-Mail Address]. In the right pane modify: Message Count, Change it to 0.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail. In
the right pane modify: MessageExpiryDays Change it to 0.
