Email messages will not send, they stay in the outbox.

Can't seem to "send" email messages. I've checked send/receive settings and
don't think that's the problem. Any helpers out there?
 
Do you have virus scanning enabled for outbound messages? If so, try
disabling that.

Are all messages getting stuck, or just the ones with attachments?
 
The scanning is diabled and all messages seem to get stuck. I haven't sent
anything with attachments. Actually, 2 of 3 messages were direct replies to
two different addresses.
