Email links to IE VERY slow

I'm having major problems all of a sudden with linking from an email in
Outlook to a web page.

Sometimes a "locate link in browser" window will eventually pop-up.

I can speed things along by:

- Clicking on the link
- Opening a new IE window

If I do that it will immediately open two windows - one with the results of
the email link and another with my default web page.

I've run anti-virus, anti-spyware software and it found nothing

I've verified that I've applied all SPs and patches

I did run defrag last weekend and have cleared cookies, history and temp
pages.

Any ideas? Questions?

Well, I've tried all of those things and still no joy.

I'm also noticing that IE is freezing or taking a very long time when I
simply attempt to change an "Internet Option".

Is there a way to reinstall IE (maybe I've corrupted it somehow)? Should I
just try to go to the beta of 7?

Sorry, forgot to tell you the version numbers:

IE = 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519 Updated versions SP2
Outlook = 11.8010.8028 SP2

Thanks again for all your help!

I took a very methodical approach. I restored the system back to a prior
restore point and the problem quit happening. I then started doing things I
know I had done:

- Installed the latest version of iTunes
- Defrag the hard disk
- Installed McAfee AntiSpyware

And it turned out that it was McAfee Anti Spyware. When I installed it the
problem started up again. When I uninstalled it the system was fine.

Couldn't find anything on the McAfee site so I'll either be calling them or
returning the software.

Thanks again!
