When clicking on a link in an email, receive message saying box with red X
and "Windows cannot open...(URL) address" but goes to the link anyway. What
will stop the message/box from appearing?

I'm on Vista premium 32 bit - windows mail: Suddenly I can no longer open
any urls in emails. I've went and clinked on window mail and clicked
default and okay. Sitll cannot ope urls. I'm not very computer literate, so
need very basic instructions to correct problem. First of got "application
not found" messages, now I get' no program associated with files ( with this
message it just shows the url trying to open so I don't know what kind of
"file" it is to set an association). Help would be very appreciated.

I assume these are URLs that you want opened in Internet Explorer?
If so, open the Default Programs applet, which you can access either from
the Start menu or via the Control Panel, then click the first item:
"Set your default programs."
After a few seconds, a list of programs comes up. Click on Internet
Explorer. If it doesn't respond with "This program has all its defaults"
then fix it by clicking on the option indicated by the first green arrow.
