I have Vista Home Premium and "Windows Mail". I tried to send by email a
very large attachment which took about 8 minutes to almost send, but then a
message came up saying I had exceeded my limit...therefore it hasn't gone
through. I no longer wish to send this email with the large attachment. My
problem is that now Windows Mail keeps trying to send it ...over and
over...with no success. How can I stop Windows Mail from automatically
trying to send it all the time?

What happens if you click on the Outbox, then that message, then the X near
the middle of your toolbar?
