Can't send forwarded emails

G

Guest

Can anyone help me figure out how to send these particular emails? Windows
Mail refuses to let me send emails with attachments that I've received which
sent to me as forwards (little envelope with blue arrow pointing right). I
can send other emails which were sent to me as originals with attachments,
but nothing that was forwarded to me. With Outlook Express I'd just click
forward, put in the bcc addys, clean up the body of the email (all those
forward arrows in the body) and then click send. Windows Mail won't let me
do this. I go through the procedure, click send and then a minute later I
get a windows saying it couldn't be sent. It's not my ISP because it sends
everything else. It's some aggravating thing with this new Windows Mail. Is
there a fix for it? I hope I'm being clear. Outlook Express was so much
better -- as was Windows XP!!!!!--

I'm having the same issue. In my case, I'm trying to forward an email that
has a .wmv attachment. This particular attachment is 5.59 mb. I can also
send text emails with no problem but have tried to forward this email
numerous times with no success.

Please help!
Thank you!

When you try sending, and you get a response that it couldn't be sent,
right-click on the error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.
Also let us know which antivirus program you are using.

Is there an error message? If so, right-click on it, copy, then paste it
into a reply here. Also let us know which antivirus you are using.

Your ISP probably has a limit on the maximum size of attachments.
Check with them as to what the limit is.

Gary,
First I get "Your SMTP server has not responded in 60 seconds. Would you
like to wait another 60 seconds for the server to respond? I've tried
clicking "yes" to no avaiil -- I keep getting the same message. It just
refuses to send forwarded emails that I've received as forwards. It doesn't
matter if they have attachments or not -- it just will not let me forward
emails I've received as forwards (envelope with blue arrow pointing to the
right).

The error message reads: Server: 'smtp.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP,
Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC19

I have Trends virus software and also Webroot spy sweeper.

Please help. I've even had the Geek Squad over here and they couldn't solve
it. He sad it has to be something in Window Mail because it's definitely not
my server and it's not my virus software.

A recent version of Trend antivirus software does cause problems
in Windows Mail. Maybe the geek squad doesn't know that yet.
Problems from Norton or McAfee antivirus software are more
common.

Have you checked the way you set up the account against Comcast's
instructions?

They don't seem to have written instructions for Windows Mail yet,
so use their instructions for Outlook Express but under Windows
Mail.

Yes, I've checked comcast and my email is set up properly. As I've said
before I can send original emails and I can forward emails that are originals
received from other folks, but what I can't forward is forwarded emails I've

You say there may be a conflict with Trends virus software? If this is so

Windows Mail program.

Thanks

The usual way that works is to uninstall it, not just disable it.

You may want avast! to replace it. It's a good idea to do a custom
install and tell it to leave out the part that scans email.

As a test, uninstall the Trend AV software. Reboot and try Windows Mail
again. If no improvement, delete that corrupted email account, restart
Windows Mail, then recreate that account.
