Email to multiple addresses won't send if one address is incorrect

Hi,

Hopefully someone can help me out with this one:

I'm using windows mail on vista business. Create new msg with multiple
email addies. If one (or more) email addies is incorrect, the entire email
doesn't get sent, until the incorrect ones have been corrected / removed.
This is tedious & time consuming to correct, and prevents the email from
being sent to all the correct addies.

When doing this process of sending to multiple email addies before, using
Outlook Express on XP, the message would get sent to all the correct emails,
and I would get a notification of the addresses it was not able to send to.

Is there a setting that I can change, that will allow the email to be sent
to all correct addies, and simply give me a notification of the addies that
were not sent to?

Also, this *bug* is messing with my ability to send mail merged documents to
multiple email addies.

Many thanks,
Maxine

I get this too sometimes. I use it to help fix the errors in my lists.

And yet so necessary.

That may be, but there's little point in keeping invalid addresses. You
should fix them or discard them.

The problem is that generally it's only spammers who value lists with
unverified addresses, so

Well, I have to tell you that I get exactly the same problem (group send
failures due to invalid addresses) using OE on both XP and Server 2003 and
Windows Mail or Windows Live mail on Vista. You will find that people
who use Thunderbird and Apple Mail run into exactly the same problems.

The cause of the problem is clearly not Windows Mail or Windows Live Mail
Vista or Outlook Express or XP, or the Mac OS or Thunderbird.
and I would get a notification of the addresses it was not able to send
to.

ISTM that mail server rules have changed to respect anti-SPAM efforts. .

Servers that don't follow new rules wind up on blacklists and nobody accepts
any mail sent through them, and it can take some time and effort and fees to
get off the blacklists.

Having your mail provider blacklisted is an effect you probably don't want
to experience. What you are seeing is a step to prevent this.

No, there is no setting you can change, other than fixing your address list.
Arrange your time so that you *can* do this.

Remove unverifiable addresess from the list - they have no value.
Also, this *bug* is messing with my ability to send mail merged documents
to
multiple email addies.

I think that you'll find that this is not a bug, despite its inconvenience;
it's part of a larger anti-spam rule change on the ISP/server side. You
could contact your ISP.

In any case, the SMTP server is apparently attempting to authenticate the
receving mail addreses, and refusing the send when it finds problems.

The mail client is simply delivering the message to you.
