Disappearing addresses

G

geordiebri

I haven't been on my computer for a few days, and returned to over 400
emails all containing our friend sobig from one of my email addies (I
download into Outlook normally).

This is after I managed to get onto the 'net after getting rid of our
friendly Blaster worm.

Since this, I have taken the opportunity to purchase the Norton
SystemWorks Professional with NAV and all the toys. Took a few
attempts to get it going, but it has detected several viruses (is this
the plural? Viri maybe?).

Problem is, Outlook (2K) has developed an issue where I cannot send
emails because as soon as I press return, my recipient's address
disappears from the to: box.

Please help, it's really beginning to get frustrating!

Norton Systemworks changes the outgoing smtp server link to their own
server.

Check this in your account settings and change it back. I had problems
sending out using their servers.

Norton doesnt change smtp server, at least not since NU2002.
Presumably yr Norton is fully updated with latest deffinitions etc?
The virus scan has dealt with all viruses (Viri)?
If you have kept the AV log file check names of viruses, then check these
out on Norton site, I believe there is a direct link frm log file, to see
what they do, and if any further correction to yr pc files is required.
Finally run Detect/Repair in OL
