Email Problems

I haven't been on my computer for a few days, and returned to over 400
emails all containing our friend sobig from one of my email addies (I
download into Outlook normally).

This is after I managed to get onto the 'net after getting rid of our
friendly Blaster worm.

Since this, I have taken the opportunity to purchase the Norton
SystemWorks Professional with NAV and all the toys. Took a few
attempts to get it going, but it has detected several viruses (is this
the plural? Viri maybe?).

Problem is, some things just aren't going right with my PC now, the
main issue being that some programmes are taking a long time to launch
(Outlook and IE mainly - running XP with Office Premium 2K btw) and
Outlook has developed an issue where I cannot send emails because as
soon as I press return, my recipient's address disappears from the to:
box.

Please help, it's really beginning to get frustrating!

Viruses it is. Several :-S yikes! This could seriously have effected your
system and if they were there for a long time already it is hard to say if
your system in still in a good shape even after you recover from the
viruses. I would do a complete reinstall of the machine as I wouldn't trust
it anymore.

Anyway. After you installed Norton have you updated the product as well?
Many updates and fixes have been released after the product shipped. Also
check and see if your system runs normally when you disable all the Norton
Utillities. Have you ran Windows Update already? Also try a repair of Office
and make sure the all the updates are applied as well.

Hope this helps!
