Email count not updating, no Email alerts

Since Wed 11th February, I have not been receiving any
email alerts on my Windows Messenger when a new email
arrives in my hotmail account. Also, the 'new email
messages' count no longer updates when I receive or read
new emails. The only time I get an email alert is when I
log in.

Please could someone advise what the problem is, and how
to fix, or if it cannot be fixed locally, how long it
will be before the problem is addressed.

i am having the eaxt same problem. it is very
frustrating. but it is comforting to know that it's just
not my system.
