Repost in an Outlook Express newsgroup.
It isn't an Outlook Express problem. When Yahoo goes wonky, it doesn't
matter what mail client you're using.
Yahoo does this every now and again. I once spent five days deleting
extra email copies. If you write to customer support, they will reply to
you *after* they clear the problem, and they will tell you they have
checked their servers and everything is operating normally.
That's all the explanation you'll ever get from Yahoo.
It makes no difference that you have five or six different email
accounts, and your email client is receiving mail from all the others
without this problem.
The only thing that works for me when this happens is to log into
webmail and either delete the email(s) in question or move them to
another folder.
