email addresses

When I send an email to more that one person, everyone I send to can see the
other persons email address even though I only put their name in the "To"
box. How can I not let that happen?

If you send an email to more than one person, you put all the names in the To
field, don't you? In the message, go View / Bcc field and put all the names
there.

Yes I put their name only. When they received the email, they could see
everyone's email address along with their name.

Do I just leave the "to" line blank when I use the "bcc"? Also, will each
person see who else I "bcc"?

it's recommended you put your address in the To field so spam filters are
less likely to mark it as spam.

BCC = Blind Carbon Copy. So, no, no one else will see who you send it to.

I understand what you are saying & I would rather use the To field. I just
don't want my friends email address to show. Example: To: Brenda; Dan;
Susie. When the email is received by everyone, it has each persons email
address beside the name. I don't want that to happen.

you can't hide the email addresses except by using BCC or mail merge. there
is no way to say "show the name but remove the email address"

Try going into your contacts folder and double clicking a contact. Locate the
"Display As " box and delete the email address leaving the name only(i.e.
Brenda), do a Save and Close. When the recipient receives the email, they
should only see each name without the email address.

You are right; it is the receiving email client that decides how to
display the names & addresses in the To: (and CC:) fields.
