email address changes to another email address when mail is sent

I have one computer running Outlook 2007 on XP Pro that is experiencing a
problem. When the user emails to one specific email address, the mail does
not go to this person but to an entirely different person (verified by
looking at email in Sent folder). This only happens with this address on this
PC. I can send to this address from my PC and it routes correctly;
conversely, the user does not experience this problem with any other
addresses.

I've deleted then added the address with no change.

Yes, the address is verified. I sent about a dozen emails myself from her PC
to that address in question with the same result.

does he check the address before sending (double click on it) and verify he
is using the correct address?

You didn't specify how the recipient is selected. This could easily happen
if the user is using autocompletion.

Russ, the user is using autocomplete, but even when I selected from the
address book or typed the full address in manually, I got the same result.

Thanks.

Doesn't make sense. Delete the autocompletion entry.

Russ,

I tried this about an hour ago, and it seems to have solved the problem. I
think the user may have corrupted this entry somehow while trying to add
another email address.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Autocompletion entries frequently become outdated or corrupt. The part I
don't understand is why addresses you invoked through autoresolution would
have failed. Autoresolution (assuming it was invoked correctly) would
completely bypass the autocompletion cache.
