Email Addresses appear in my Contacts that I didn't put there. Is this some
automatic feature in Outlook (like if I reply to a huge number of people, it
sticks them in my Contacts). How do I disable this from happening. I have
looked and can't seem to find the check box for this.

Thanks, Steve

Outlook does not do what you have described.

Let's first check if your description is correct - open a Contact. Is the
data in their email field? If not, what you may be experiencing is
autocompletion which is a file (N2K) of recently used email addresses - not
anything to do with Contacts.

If that check turns out OK, I wonder if you have any add-ins? eg Plaxo?

Everyone - turn on your Advanced Toolbars and learn how to use the Field
Chooser and Group by Box!!

Which version of Outlook? Outlook 98 and 2000 in Internet Mail Only (IMO)
mode had the ability to add people you reply to Contacts.
..
If that is your version and mode refer here:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=195429

For other version some tools can do this and it can be programmed in.
refer here and se if anything is installed if you aren't using any of the
versions that provide the feature natively.

Dear Judy - I am running Outlook XP (2002); yes when I open Contacts, a bunch of them just have name and no other details. What now? Thanks, Steve
