Email address for multiple recipients

Hi Guys

I need to set up a common email address for a 'feedback form' on my Website
which is developed in Frontpage 2003.
I want to structure this email address in such a way that when someone sends
an email to this address, the email is recieved by more that one person in my
office.

How do I do that??

Thanks

This FAQ is frequently discussed here...you could try searching for previous
posts, and see what answers have been provided.

To my best knowledge from my experience using the feature, the FP form (to
send email using the server extensions) was designed to send the message to
one email address, which, as I understand it, has to be an email on the
same domain as the web site, e.g. in the format (e-mail address removed) where
the website is www.somewhere.com.

It might also be able to be (e-mail address removed) where the site is hosted at
someISP.com without the full domain e.g in the format
www.someISP.com/~somewhere/, but this depends on the host's configuration of
the server and how/what they have allowed as far as the sending of emails
from the form using the FPSE is concerned.

However, have you tried separating the email addresses with either commas
(,) or semi-colons? (not guaranteed to work, but it might).
If you wanted more flexibility over this, it is sadly lacking, as stated
above, this form is primarily designed to send to one email address.

If you have a central mail server (Exchange Server for instance) maybe you
can configure that, so it auto-forwards the emails received to the various
addresses using a rule (like you can set up in Outlook), or on a simpler
level, an extra computer on the network, that actually receives all the
email, and through rules set up in Outlook (or whatever your email
application happens to be) that forward the emails coming from the web site,
to the various staff.

A third option I can think of is that you might be even able to do this
message-forwarding through your web host - they may have a mail forwarding
feature that can be set up through your hosting control panel.

Fourthly, there are alternatives to the FP server extensions; you can set up
a php or asp script to send the email, these are easily configured to send
email to many people, including use of the "Cc" and "Bcc" fields). You
might need to speak to your ISP or Web Host about what scripts they offer
(other than the FP server ext) for sending email from a web form, and for
help on setting such a thing up.

Hope this helps.
Andrew.
