editor mov movie

my dc takes .mov movies (750Z)
I need an editor to increase the brightness of some
as I had to shoot in low light.
I can change to avi but same as orig in brightness.
Is there a freeware program or way to do this.
Yes I looked at googles and yahoo etc, but I don't have $199.

Don't have ant specific recommendations, but if you haven't already,
two very good sites I use all the time for video & DVD stuff are
www.videohelp.com or afterdawn.com. Lots of reviews of freeware,
shareware, trial/demo-ware and generally good user comments. Plus lots
of excellent tutorials.

If converting is no problem for you, you can use TMPGenc to convert to
MPEG-1 and increase brightness in one go.
