My daughter received a Kodak digital camera (Easy Share CX62000) for
Christmas that will do short low quality video (30 Seconds). The problem is
that they are saved automatically as .mov files. I wish to add audio etc
for her but can only find freeware for wav etc. Is there a freeware program
that will convert the .mov to a .wav or some other more common format.
Regards

Is there

OOPS! .mov to some other video format, not audio format.

There is mov2avi, a dos tool to convert to avi. there is also a GUI for
it.
And there is TMPGenc, which wil, in combination with the Quicktime reader
plug-in, convert mov to mpeg, or avi if you wish.

If you want to add an audio track to a MOVIE file you must get a
movie file editor.

I have a movie editor but it won't work with .mov files which is why I
need to convert (the camera only saves as .mov)

Dave!
Do you have Quicktime Player? That palys MOV files and if you open up and set
to record SOUNDPLAYER before opening up Quicktime, it will record to WAV the
sounds from the MOV file.
Assuming that the audio was all you wanted. Hope this helps. SOUNDPLAYER comes
with Windows and you can get Quicktime just about anywhere for free.
