Editing the URL in full screen

Bill

In IE6, when I hit F11 to go full screen, I can't manually edit the URL in
the address bar.

Is there a workaround to allow this?

Hi Bill,

No, that's just what F11 stands for. I guess you want to disable the
toolbars and status bar from View....

Kind regards

Depends what you're asking for.

You can open an input box for changing the page. Press Ctrl-o

That could be useful to you if you want to navigate to a page you
have already visited or to one of your Favorites, assuming you have
AutoComplete for Web Addresses active. Otherwise you would
have to be intending to copy an address out of your Clipboard
or of course type a new URL from scratch.

In order to actually put the current page's URL in there without any
add-ons you would have to right-click (or press Shift-F10 or Menu)
and use the Properties menu item. Then doubleclick somewhere
in the Address (URL): field, press Ctrl-a and Ctrl-c (or Menu-c),
then press Esc, then press Ctrl-o and Ctrl-v.

I have a right-click add-on called Copy Location which eliminates
all that Properties page copying described above. I can't remember
exactly where I got it. I think it was from the IE5 Developer's Tools
package. It's probably still available on the MS download site.
(I'm composing this offline so I can't check for you.) In any case to
answer your question with my add-on I can create the equivalent of
an Address bar in a Fullscreen window with the following keystrokes:
Menu-C,Ctrl-o,Ctrl-v

The simplest keyboard solution to your problem though may be:
F11, edit, Enter, F11.

You could also activate your Fullscreen window's Address bar
(Alt-V,T,A) and use that instead. It's not commonly used because
there isn't much room for an Address bar in the Fullscreen window's
toolbar and it may not be thought of very often because Auto-Hide
is usually active on the Fullscreen toolbar.
