I had a company write me a database that allows me to create contracts and
then either print them or e-mail them through Access. I'm asked to select a
format and the Options are:
Rich Text Format
Microsoft Exel 97-2003
Text File
Microsoft
Excel 5-7
Html
Snapshot Format
I would like to be able just to send it as a Word Document. Where in Access
can I modify this?
Thanks,
Michael

Rich Text Format is as close to a Word document as you are going to get
unless you want to switch to doing a merge process with a Word template
file.

By the way, of those formats only Snapshot Format will retain any graphical
elements like lines, boxes, images, etc..

Rich,
Is that why when I send it as a rich text file and a client opens it in
Word, not everything is lined up properly?
Michael

Rick,
Would everyone be able to open it under a .sp file? Or would they have to
have a special program?
Michael

If by ".sp file", you mean ".snp file" (the Snapshot Format), they'd need to
download the free Snapshot Viewer from Microsoft.

Another option would be to save them as PDF files. See what Stephen Lebans
has at http://www.lebans.com/reporttopdf.htm

Yes. The rich text output really only works for very simple tabular output.
Anything complex and/or which has CanGrow enabled TextBoxes will usually end
up looking like crap.

Douglas,
Thank you! That was an incredible suggestion! IT works like a dream!
