I have people that send me e-mail that automatically
sends them a response that I have opened the mail. I
want to turn this off. I do not want them to
automatically know that I have opened it. I would like
the option to either respond or not to respond. How can
I turn off this automatic response?

Since you didn't think your version of Outlook was important enough to
mention, there are the steps for Outlook 2002/2003. You'll have to figure
it out for yourself if you're not using one of these. Tools>Options>E-mail
Options>Tracking Options. Uncheck the top three boxesDown at the bottom,
select "Never send a response". Click OK, then OK, then OK.

All versions of Outlook before XP or 2002 do NOT have a
way to turn this off. If you are using 2002 or higher,
you can stop this action in the Tools, Options menu.

Suggest upgrading to Outlook to at least 2002 if possible
so you can stop this invasion of privacy.
