E-mail word 2002 with photos, and keep them in place

How does one put photos in a Word Document (Word 2002) and keep them in
place when you E-Mail the document? Mine are either all over the place (in
the return E-Mail) or not sent at all.
I write poems and lyrics (haven't sold any) with photos or clip art images,
to clarify the meaning of a passage or line, but haven't figured out how to
get them to stay put.
Can someone help? I have a newer computer with Vista but am using Word 2002,
which still functions as it did with XP. Just cannot figure out how to do
this one thing. I'm not a computer person... just a user for my writing.

Thanx in advance

Hello Terry

are you sending the Word document as an attachment? And the sender reads
it and sends it back as an attachment? Then there should not be a big
problem with the images.

If, however, you send the file directly as the body of the email, you
might as well stop worrying about placement: you normally don't know
what your recipient's email client or setting is, he might as well see a
text-only version.

So, you're problem may be twofold: first, you might want to get familiar
with the ways Word handles pictures. There is a bunch of articles on
this subject on the Word MVP pages:

http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/DrawingGraphics.htm

Then, once you have the positioning stable enough, you might want to
think about how you send the document around. If your recipient is only
supposed to read it (and not, say, use Track Changes, inline comments,
or normal edits on the document), then I suggest you look into
converting the document into a PDF. That way, you will have no problems
with changing layout at all.
