playing around with photos in word 2007

We recently formatted our computer and have installed office word 2007, which
is still new to me... Text and writing wise, it seems fine, but when I want
to play around with photos in a document, for example, dragging them from one
corner of a page to the other, or resizing them using the arrows on the sides
of the photo, this seems to take time. In the other word we had (2000?), it
did it straight away so you could see what you where doing, whereas now you
have to wait until the photo appears again before you can see whether it's in
the right place/right size etc.

Can anyone help me? I need to write a lot of text document with inserted
photos, and need to be able to play around with the photos...

Thanks so much!!

Graphics are inserted inline by default in Word 2007. In previous versions
they were inserted as floating objects and I'm wondering if that's why you
are having difficulty. To change the default, click the Office Button, click
Word Options, click Advanced, and in the Cut, Copy, Paste section, set the
Insert/paste picture as option to the text wrapping of your choice.
