e-mail folders in outlook

all of my personal folders for saving e-mail have
disappeared i can no longer access them. what has
happened or are they lost forever.
 
You are probably looking at the wrong .PST file. Check
your hard disk for this type of file, then make it your
main information store. If unsure how to do this, repost
in an Outlook newsgroup and state the exact version
of Outlook you're using.

This might be a good time to review your backup strategy.
If your EMail folders are important then you must back
them up every week. Again an Outlook newsgroup can
help you here.
