What do you use as an email client?
Examining your post headers shows that you posted with Outlook Express 6.0.
If you use Outlook Express as your email client, then, for example, your
inbox messages are stored in a single file,
C:\Documents and Settings\{user name}\Local Settings\Application
Data\Identities\{a long string of letters and numbers}\Microsoft\Outlook
Express\Inbox.dbx if the C: drive is your system drive. Other .dbx storage
files are Outbox.dbx, and files for Usenet newsgroup posts
(microsoft.public.windowsxp.basics.dbx for this newsgroup, for example.)
You cannot read the messages in these .dbx files without Outlook Express or
a third-party utility.
