E-faxes detaching

D

Donna

Is someone able to assist?
I have Windows 98 with Outlook Express and use a 3rd party
fax service to receive faxes via the internet which arrive
in Outlook Express as pdf attachments. Have just loaded
Outlook Express 6 over the weekend and it immediately
starting stripping out the pdf attachments
as "suspicious." Fumbling around, I managed to reset the
default and that allowed the attachments to come through.
Can't seem to duplicate the fix. But have not received
any faxes since (even though I sent a couple to myself).
This little home business is out of business if I can't
receive faxes. I'm not the most computer literate person
out there (obviously!) and am going a little nuts. Thank
you so much for any assistance you can offer! Donna

Wrong group. This group deals with neither OE nor third party Internet Fax
Services. Surely the Fax Service you hired has support. If not, fire them.

The articles will tell you to go to 'Tools|Options|Security' and remove the
checkmark from the fourth box down, the one labeled "Do not allow
attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus."
