E Drive help needed

Hi:

I'm running Windows XP and when I restart or shutdown, I loose my E drive.
It happens both when I leave a disk in or out. It is an NEC DVD+-RW 3450a.

Dell support thinks it is an XP software issue.They went into my registry
and screwed everything up but I fixed it through System restore.

In there past I have used System Restore to bring it back.

Please help,

Mark, do you mean it does not show up in MyComputer.? If yes, go here

Yes, it dissappears in My Computer and whem I fire up my Roxio's
Drag-to-Disc, it shows no recorder there as well......
