Can you help. Since the last two Windows Updates I am unable to read any of
the CDs I burn. Everything freezes and "Not responding" message appears. I
am running Windows XP Professional and have an NEC CD-RW NR9300A CD-RW drive.
Thanks.

Or try the following. You should back up the registry before making
changes:

Click Start, Run, type Regedit, click OK.
Locate this Registry Key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class
Key Name: {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Value Data: [Delete All Value Data from UpperFilters and LowerFilters]
Note: Do not delete the Key or the Multi-String Values. Delete only the
data values.
Exit Registry and Reboot

Thanks Elmo, but unfortunately this hasn't solved the problem. You don't
have any other suggestions do you?

Try removing the updates, try a System Restore to before the problem
first occurred.
