Windows XP, SP2, Media Center Version: When I right click on an icon, a box
opens with "open", "run as...", etc. but when I click "send to:", there is
no e:/ (CD) or f:/ (DVD) available to send to. How do I retrieve these
items to burn a CD?

Try this, you won't see a CD drive in sendto if this is disabled, unless you
are using 3rd party recording software. Also Windows has no native DVD
burning capabilities, for that you have to have 3rd party DVD recording
software.

CD Drive enable recording wizard

Open My Computer, right click the CD Drive icon and then click Properties.
Click the Recording tab.
Check: Enable CD recording on this drive
Click: Apply
Click: OK

Enable CD recording on this drive
This setting turns on the built-in CD recording features included with
Windows XP.
Third-party programs sometimes disable this setting.
You can only enable CD recording for one device at a time.
