Dynamic Web Templates

On the website I am making, I have a premade layout that I want to use on
every page. The website as three columns. Two smaller columns on the side,
and a larger one in the middle. The side columns I want to have the same
content on every page, but i want the middle column to be different on every
page. See, the middle column holds the contents of that page. Well, I was
told that I should use Dynamic Web Templates, but I am still a bit confused.

1.) I saved the layout as a DWT and applied it to a couple of pages to see
if it worked. I also made a layer around the middle column and changed it to
an Editable Region. Well, I tried adding a layer to one of the columns on
the DWT and saving it, hoping that it would save it to the other pages, but
it did not, what am I doing wrong?

2.) Also, for the middle column, am I using the Editable regions right?

Are you using a server-based Web? Because if so, changes
to DWTs won't propagate as you expect. You need to publish
the server-based Web to a disk-based Web, then change your
DWT, the publish the disk-based Web back to the server.

This is because DWTs are new to FP2003, and the latest
server extensions are 2002.
