Dynamic disk question

Hi,

I'm having two disks, one configured as a basic disk (disk 1), with a
partition formatted with NTFS, and another configured as a dynamic disk
(disk 2). I created a volume on disk 1, and pointed the new volume to a
folder in disk 2, and then disk 2 fails. What will happen to the folder in
disk 1 which is the mount point for the new volume in disk 2? Is there a way
to remove the mount point in disk 1?

The problem which I came across is, I tried to copy the user's my documents
folder in the documents and settings folder of a laptop computer, and
copying failed. All the security settings were set correctly, and I even
took the ownership of the folder as well. But I get the "Access Denied"
error when I try to copy the files. When I select each individual folder I'm
able to copy it. But when I try to copy the mount point, it doesn't work.
The computer has only one hard disk, configured as a basic disk, with a
partition formatted with NTFS.

This is the older hirarchy of the folder which I'm trying to copy:

Documents And Settings
user
folder1
folder2
folder3
mountpoint
folder4

When I questioned the user about the folder, she says that the hard disk was
formatted by the dealer, and the folder was there when it was brought back.
I suspect that the mountpoint folder was mounted to a volume in a second
disk with dynamic disk configuration, an external usb hard disk drive maybe.
Any ideas?

I was able to rename the user folder without any problem. But copying it, or
copying the mountpoint folder, or deleting the mountpoint folder doesn't
work. If the mountpoint folder doesn't belong to the user, I want to remove
the mount point. I'm able to list the contents of the mountpoint folder. Any
ideas?
