I have designed a dwt so I don't have to update pages individually . When I
save the changes in a template ; I get the question " You have 20 pages
attached do you want to update . I select yes then go to those pages; but
they are not updated . I update them manually ; and no update. Please explain?

Are the changes you are making to the DWT in an editable region? If
so, none of the 20 pages will update, whether done at once or
individually.

Yes I made a table with cells and wanted to have the whole table as an
editable region ; since I am the only one who upates the site. There is only
one editable region and it does not update. For example I changed the
boarders on the template and when you answer the quetion yes to update
attached pages; Then check out the page it is not updated even if you do it
manually.

Re-read Ronx reply below, as areas that are defined as editable regions will not be updated when you
make changes to a DWT. Editable regions are area within a DWT that allow you to change content on a
per page basis as needed for a specific page, so it can not be changed via a DWT once applies.

Redesign your DWT so that some of it is non-editable, for the
navigation and anything else that will be common to all pages. These
non-editable areas can be updated in the DWT, and when the changed DWT
is applied to the pages those areas will be updated on the pages.

Editable and non-editable regions have two purposes:
First, they define which areas can be changed on a per page basis, by
editing individual pages - this is the most important purpose.

Second, and least important, keeping other authors away from
non-editable areas. This purpose is not applicable in your case, but
the first is.

Changes in an *editable* region of a DWT will NEVER be applied to an
existing page.
