dwt does not update automatically

I've attached a few pages with dwt. I changed the template ( left the file
name the same ) and saved, and only once have I got the "3 files attached do
you want to update?" question. I am updating the dwt directly on the server.
Any suggestions?

That is normal on a server with FrontPage extensions.
When you save a DWT in that environment it will only offer to update any
files that are also open. In a disc based web, or a WSS site, saving the
DWT will update all pages, open or not.

DWT will only update disk based webs not server based.
