DVR-MS files...

Should they have a standard icon or a thumbnail taken from the video?

I installed Nero7 and AVI, MPG etc... files lost their thumbnails until
I fixed the registry but DVR-MS files don't seem to show a thumbnail.

clearly nero screwed it.

Damn! I've fixed the other movie files but DVR-MS does not want to play.
I've used these reg settings:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.DVR-MS]
@=""
"PerceivedType"="video"
"MP2.Last"="Custom"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.DVR-MS\OpenWithProgIds]
"WMP.DVR-MSFile"=hex(0):

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.DVR-MS\ShellEx]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.DVR-MS\ShellEx\{BB2E617C-0920-11D1-9A0B-00C04FC2D6C1}]
@="{9DBD2C50-62AD-11D0-B806-00C04FD706EC}"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.DVR-MS\ShellEx\{e357fccd-a995-4576-b01f-234630154e96}]
@="{9DBD2C50-62AD-11D0-B806-00C04FD706EC}"

Anyone know what else I need to do to get my thumbnails working as they
should?

I did a clean install on my notebook without loading Nero and DVR-MS
files do not have thumbnails previews in windows explorer or WMP but
they do in Media Center.

The Registry fix did repair may previews back to normal. I have now
loaded the most recent version of Nero (7.9.6.0) on my notebook and the
thumbnails still work so I guess Nero is now fixed.
