hi all,
some of you may remember my rambellings of inability to get good picture, in
correct screen resolution for my "LG" LCD 42"~106cm TV with HD tuner, to a
computer. (native resolution 1366*768).
well its down to 2 basic things:
1 the software/driver/graphics card.
2 the connector/port.
I have been toiling for months, with 3 different computers(yes 3!!! luckily
i have 3) and the answer is for BEST results,
DVI to HDMI connector cable(australia, retravision sells them for $65,sure
most good stores/computer stores can get/have).
And i finally bit the bullet and used my Best PC, my AMD 4400+(2.3gig @)
dual core, with 2*1 gig ddr2 corsair paired,and 2*512meg ddr2 corsair paired
RAM,1*250 gig samsung sata2,1*400 gig samsung sata 2,inbuilt nvidia 256
shared grapghics(this was the real saviour, last pc was 128 and before 256 but
older non vista),Vista Home Premium 32bit(media centre is god dam awsome
tool,ONLY reason i have stuck with vista!!!)and a samsung dvd burner,with
twin HD TV 'haigpagen' tuner, wireless lan, slimline mini ktx case, black in
stereo cabinet slot.
So now my PC starts up and its like any PC monitor, shows ALL resolutions
through startup(previosly it would set to default 600*900 IF i left TV
ON!(back from 1220*720).
I can get 1980*1080 on my TV with 30htz interlaced, but its sort of jumpy,so
1220*720(HDMI native LG has told me) is Very Good.(if i could just get rid on
interlaced...next mission)
Last advice:
with Vista, let it load ALL drivers,i did for Nvidia and haigpagen, and its
the best.u just sit back, load the 125 megs whatever, and let it go. this was
like my 6th install of vista.
