DVD writing software

Is it possible to have two different dvd writing software. It looks as if it
maybe eaiser to use roxio with realplayer since it comes with a place for
it.I was using nero until i got realplayer then i found out that realplayer
can download all video an it use roxio software.Would it cause any conflict
to have both burning software install on my machine? Thanks in advance.
