DVD Writer Issue

Guys

Sorry if this is the wrong NG

I'd appreciate a bit of help please.

-Using XP SP2 fully hotfixed and SP'ed
-Until last Friday night my DVD Drive/Writer was working great

I installed Ulead movie maker v6 and created a dvd. Saturday morning my dvd
drive has issues and has an error 37 (Windows cannot initialize the device
driver for this hardware. ) in device manager

So I take it out and replace it with a new one. Same error

I then remove all software that has the capability of writing/creating DVD's

No joy

If I boot to safe mode I can use the DVD drive and windows will see it fine

As soon as I boot normally my dvd drive is experiencing errors

I have 2 dvd drives lists in Device manager, these are:

-IB1031P EZP044C SCSI CDROM DEVICE
-TSSTCorp CD/DVDW SH-S182D

I've tried disabling the IB1031P and I still get the same problem

I've attempted to remove the IB1031P from the registry in safe made and
windows will not allow me to do this

So. I reckon Ulead caused the problems and has installed the IB1031P
driver. I do not have any SCSI devices on the PC, so I think the reference
to SCSI is virtual for the purpose of Ulead to create DVD's

How do I find out which drivers are being loaded for DVD/CDROM connections
please

Or is there an easier way of resolving this

In anticipation

Hi, I wonder if you can help me. I have just gone through the same problems
as yourself after downloading Ulead move 6. I am getting all the same issues
as yourself. Please can you let me know what solution you came up with.

Right alias would be microsoft.public.windowsxp.hardware
