DVD won't autoplay

Ref MS KB article 817357.

Known problem in XP Home and Pro.

Using XP Professional (fully updated)
New DVD inserted in drive.
Open My computer and the DVD Volume label is not updated.
Open the DVD shows two directories.
DVD does not autoplay.

How do I obtain the fix that Microsoft describes in the KB
article.
