DVD trouble

I have XP and have not used the DVD for months. Now that I try to use it
again I get a msg saying " no disk in drive D: " when there is a disk in
there and I have tried several disks ...so it appears the trouble is not with
the disk.

The drive is faulty somehow or other. You might try one of the CD cleaner
disks.
