DVD sound doesn't work

My sound works great with every other application on my computer except the
DVD drive. When I play DVD's the video works perfect, but there is no sound
whatesoever, no matter what program I use to run the DVD. My laptop is an HP
litle over a year old. Thanks for your help.
 
Have you check that in your sound settings, that the sound from the CD / DVD
is not set to 'mute'? This will do it every time!

What applications are you using?

Have you called HP technical support?
