I have windvd ver6 which does not run on vista, just DL ver8 and that does
not play a DVD on my system also even though it stated it was vista ready.
Can anyone recommend a player other than media player.

Instead of beating my head against a brick wall, I would
just use Media Player and wait for the 3rd party versions to
release Vista compatible versions.

I must agree, though, if you insist on beating your head
against a brick wall, it really does feel good when you stop!

I use the latest Nero CD/DVD burning software which comes with a ton of
other apps to include a multi-media player app. It works fine with
Vista...use it all the time now for DVD movies, AVI's, MPEG ect... Download
a free trial and see if you like it.
