DVD RW missing from My Computer

I know this is a repeat of a prior thread, however my problem i
slightly different.
2 days ago I noticed that my DVD drive was missing from the computer
Since then I've tried the CdGone.zip file and whatnot.
The drive still works on my laptop, its picked up in Devices Manage
but with an exclamation mark next to it: "Windows successfully loade
the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardwar
device. (Code 41)".
My laptop hasnt fallen or been hit in 2 months since I bought it, an
I'm totally clueless about what to do. Any help would be muc
appreciated
 
Did you reinstall your burning software? Did you update the software too?
What burning app do you use? Updated the firmware lately?
Nero Express and InCd for example add extra drivers for CD/DVD devices...
